Visit urgent care if your child has a persistent fever, breathing changes, worsening cough, ear pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, dehydration, unusual tiredness or is not drinking well. Young children can become unwell quickly, and should be medically assessed.
If your baby is under 6 months old and has a fever of 38°C or higher, go directly to the nearest Emergency Department or call 000. For babies over 6 months, urgent care may be suitable if symptoms are non-life-threatening but concerning, such as poor feeding, vomiting, dehydration, cough, ear pain or persistent fever.

Yes, testing can be arranged if required based on symptom assessment. This might include pathology testing, respiratory testing or other checks to help guide the next steps for treatment, isolation advice or follow-up.
Yes. Colds, flu and other respiratory infections can trigger asthma symptoms or make breathing feel harder. If you or your child develops wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath or worsening cough, urgent assessment may be needed.
Yes. SmartCare UrgentCare can assess vomiting, poor fluid intake and mild dehydration. Treatment may include anti-nausea medication, hydration advice, pathology or IV fluids if clinically required.
